This is my favorite picture of us from the past 19 years that I have been so blessed and honored to be called one of your kids. I know it’s so blurry but it’s a testament to the fun we had that night. The Company Men were having one of their first public performances on the Upper West Side and we danced and sang the night away, as we did so many times to their mashups. We also drank all the wine, as we did so many times at so many celebrations, big and small. You were the light, life and laughter of every one of those celebrations✨

You were the great includer, always. From the moment I met you when I was just dating Stuart and you invited me to the big Ambrose family trip to Walt Disney World, to our wedding you so beautifully and graciously hosted when you welcomed in all our friends who instantly loved you, you accepted and saw everyone right where they were at and you did everything you could to make them feel seen, heard, appreciated and valuedπŸ’–

You never stopped learning and studying and you spent your career in service to others as a family therapist. Your empathy knew no bounds. Your energy drew others to you as you consistently provided a safe, entrusted space for people to share and to heal. And you cultivated authentic and brilliant lifelong friendships. I loved your girlfriends as you loved mine and I learned how to be a better friend and how to raise the kids to be better friends from watching youπŸ’›

You put your family first through every moment, ordinary and extraordinary. You held us accountable and reminded us what matters. You listened more than you spoke and you loved us all unconditionally.
You’re with us always, Mom/Peg/Nannie and we love you endlessly❀️

My dearest Peg,
Today is July 1st and your birthday. This year, you are celebrating in heaven while we who love you so much are left to remember all the past birthdays and all the years we were blessed to know you. I remember those walks "down Broad" or "up Olney" as if it happened last week. I remember playing cards in "Solley's alley" and wireball in the driveway. I remember the dances (you were always the best), the seven of us discussing movie stars (especially your beloved Elvis), boyfriends, weddings, children, grandchildren, and the aches and pains of getting older. We shared it all through the years--the laughter, the tears, the hopes and the fears, the celebrations and the sad gatherings.
I have talked to you a lot in these past few days, Peg--I hope you heard me. I will miss you every day, my sweet friend, and I know your wonderful laugh, your beautiful smile, your generous and loving heart will brighten heaven. Goodbye for now, Peggie. I love you. Dance with the angels.....

Today would be a day when I should be wishing Peg a Happy Birthday. Instead Domenica and I are grieving and have a hole in our hearts! I was lucky to have known her and could never thank her enough for the joy and wisdom she brought every time we were together. I pray that the almighty will bless her family with the same calm and peace she brought me in life. We love you Peg and you will live in our hearts forever!
