Thomas T Watkinson of Glenside died on June 13, 2022 at the age of 80.

Born in Abington, PA on January 21. 1942, Tom was the son of the late Harriet Doster Watkinson.

Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane (Serrao), his children Lisa Brownholtz(Jim) and Tommy. He is also survived by his 3 adoring grandsons, Nicholas, Colin, and Braeden and his best friend Shady.

Tom graduated from Abington Senior High School in 1960 where he earned a varsity letter on the rifle team. He worked at Motor Sports and Quaker City Gear Works until he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge, Tom was an operating engineer at PS Stauffer and Sons and Carr & Duff with the International Operating Engineers Local 542 until he retired. He also bartended for years at the Roslyn V.F.W. and Abington Tavern.

Every winter Tom looked forward to spending time with his late brother, Wes, and niece in Tampa Florida. In May you could find him in Nova Scotia fishing, walking along the beach and spying Moose with his cousin Russell.

He loved spending time with his family whether it be on the beach in Brigantine, camping, family reunions, going to Atlantic City with his wife, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, lunch dates or just sitting on the porch counting the cars and having a beer. Tom had many hobbies: he was an avid pool and dart player, hunter, fisherman, gardener, Eagles season ticketholder, and spectator at every practice or game his kids participated in.

His grandsons meant everything to Tom. He was their #1 fan! He loved sitting on the sidelines watching them play. Soccer, Football, basketball, baseball games even wrestling matches- he was there! Cheering them on and giving the officials an earful. Go Ghosts!

It was Tom's wish to make contributions to Hunter 62Blues Soccer team or the Abington Boys Soccer team.



Please join the Watkinson family after 6pm Tuesday, July 5th at the Knights of Columbus, 235 Limekiln Pike, Glenside, PA 19038 for a celebration of Tom's life. The memorial tribute service will follow. Come and share a memory and refreshments. Burial will be private.
