Ruth S.
Suman
Oct 30, 1943 — Apr 13, 2026
Ruth Sallmon Suman, 82, of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026. Born on October 30, 1943, Ruth spent her life in the Blue Bell area, where she built a home centered on love, family, and lasting relationships.
Ruth was the devoted wife of the late Thomas A. Suman, with whom she shared over 57 years of marriage. Together, they created a strong and loving family that remains her greatest legacy.
She is survived by her three children: Kenneth D. Suman of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey; Gregory A. Suman of Atlanta, Georgia; and Cheri S. Fogle and her husband, Mike Fogle, of Dresher, Pennsylvania. Ruth was a proud and loving grandmother to Katie Anthony, Ally Suman, Kyle Suman, Jake Suman, Cody Gresham, Brady Fogle, and Ryan Fogle.
As a mother, Ruth stayed active in her bowling league, garden club, and numerous tennis teams. She made the best homemade Halloween costumes and used her creative flair to help with school projects and crafts. She loved decorating her home for the holidays and created a warm and welcoming place for all who entered. Her children have fond memories of cramming into the family station wagon for road trips to the Jersey Shore, Florida and Vermont for skiing vacations. Our mom filled the giant red Igloo cooler with extravagant road side lunches.
Later in life, affectionately known as "Memom," Ruth loved traveling to foreign countries with Tom, the Caribbean islands with friends and Alaskan cruises and Outer Banks with grandchildren. She and Tom were longtime game partners, enjoying trivia and bridge to name a few. Tom often taking it seriously, while Ruth simply enjoyed the fun. She showed her love for family and friends by hosting holiday dinners and gatherings, always serving the most delicious homemade meals.
Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ruth's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
