With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Philip J. Murray, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who departed this life peacefully from natural causes on September 23, 2025, at the age of ninety-five. Phil was born on October 22, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Elkins Park, attended St. James Parish School, North Catholic High School, Villanova University and Temple Law School. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians since 1971. Phil dedicated his life to caring for his family, being a devout Catholic, and practicing as an attorney for over 65 years. He also served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his beloved five children, fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Children: Elizabeth M. Cohen (Andy), Ann M. Mulholland (Mark), Jane M. Munro (Jamie), Claire M. Steinberg (John, deceased 2023), Robert F. Murray (Jill). Grandchildren: Christopher Mulholland (Alex), Cara McCutcheon (Ian), Quinlan Mulholland (Amanda), Moira Ramspott (Marcus), Jessica Watson (Jeff), Matthew Munro (Nicole), Ryan Munro, Sarah Cohen, Robert Cohen, Amanda Steinberg (Drew), Thomas Steinberg, Luke Murray, Ruby Murray, and Lila Murray. Great Grandchildren: Avery, Caelan, Bodie, and Wyatt Mulholland; Delaney, Catherine, and Quincy Mulholland; Liam, Teagan and Aidan McCutcheon; Jack and Rory Munro; and Grace Watson.

The love of his life, Martha M. Murray, pre-deceased him in September 2005 and not a day went by that he didn't miss her terribly. They met in their early twenties in Philadelphia and were married for 49 years before she passed away. They built a life together that Phil honored and valued beyond her passing.

Phil enjoyed many hobbies and pursuits. He was a sports fanatic, with a bias towards everything Villanova. He was a talented artist who experimented in a variety of mediums, with a focus on watercolors for the past 30 years. Phil found great joy in gardening and landscaping. Every day he read a hardcopy of multiple newspapers front-to-back, remembering every detail and finishing all the puzzles within. He was a great fan of his grandchildren's athletic, academic, artistic, and musical pursuits. He made wreaths, baked, made chocolates, painted cards and calendars and truly enjoyed the simple pleasure of making holidays special. He was patriotic and truly loved a parade. Phil led a full and wonderful life!

In these moments of reflection and remembrance, may we find solace in the shared love and respect for a man whose life was a testament to the love and loyalty of family and his Catholic values. He will forever remain in our hearts and memories. His spirit will live on through the family legacy and lives he touched. He was loved and will be dearly missed.

A celebration to honor Phil's remarkable life and legacy will be held Tuesday, September 30th, 2025:

• Visitation: 9:00-10:45am, Our Lady Help of Christians (Abington, PA)

• Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00am, Our Lady Help of Christians

• Interment: immediately following Mass, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (Philadelphia, PA)

• Reception to celebrate Phil's life: immediately following burial, North Hills Country Club (Glenside, PA)
