GALANTE

Mary L, née Walter, age 80, of Abington, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Dominic Galante. Born in Philadelphia, she was the loving daughter of the late George and Mary (née Vollmar) Walter.

Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Family University, and spent 40 years teaching for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Mary loved teaching, being a Eucharistic Minister, arts & crafts, listening to Neil Diamond, browsing Pinterest, and being a doting grandmother to her 8 beloved grandchildren. She was devoted to the canonization of Carlo Acutis, and lived her life according to these four words: Jesus, Mary, Mass, and Rosary.

In addition to her husband, Dominic, Mary is survived by her children and their spouses: Michael and Tracy Galante, Tricia Dykas, and Christine and Jared Cannon; by her siblings Barbara Weiss (Michael) and George Walter (Mary); and by her eight grandchildren: Dominic, and Carmine Galante, Madison, Marissa, and Joshua Dykas, Sarah, Jared, and Emily Cannon. Mary is also survived by her former son-in-law Zygmunt Dykas as well as by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
