Mark J.
Britt
Jun 28, 1951 — Dec 6, 2024
Mark Jonathan Britt, 73, of Abington Pa, passed away December 6, 2024. Born on June 28, 1951, in Norristown, Pa, he was a devoted husband to Deborah of 48 years and loving father to Shannon Clair, Suzanne Wilson and Kevin Britt.
Mark graduated from Bishop McDevitt HS in 1969, where he was a celebrated track and football star. He went on to Drexel University where he majored in Business, graduating in 1974. Mark loved sharing his memories about that time of his life.
Mark met Deb in 1975, was married in 1976 and started their family. Mark was hard working and dedicated. He spent most of his career for 35 years working as a Salesman selling construction equipment. Although Mark was often traveling for work, he always made his family a priority. Mark was a dedicated father, coaching many of his children's sports teams at OLHC, as well as becoming the Athletic Director for several years.
Mark was a simple man who enjoyed the beach, golf, music, spending time with his friends and never missed his grandchildren's sports games. Though Mark may not have liked being the center of attention he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was always a man of integrity and left a lasting impact on everyone he knew. Mark will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Deborah (Brown), his children Shannon Clair (husband Jeff), Suzanne Wilson (husband George), Kevin Britt (wife Emily), his 8 grandchildren, Conor, Amelia, Gabrielle, Benjamin, Mary, Colin, Caleb and Nora, and siblings Stephen, David, Eileen, Karen, Deborah, and Anita. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Kathryn Britt, brother Christopher Britt and brother-in-law George Weiss.
