Obituary

Garberina,

Margaret M. (Burns) entered into eternal life on August 1, 2023, peacefully at home. Peg, the daughter of the late James and Margaret Burns, grew up in Germantown, lived the last 60 years in Abington, and was a parishioner at Our Lady Help of Christians since 1963. She graduated from Little Flower High School and attended St. Joseph University. She began her career at Smith Kline and French working for the CEO. After raising her children, she worked for BeechNut Nutrition and McNeil Pharmaceuticals. In retirement, Peg volunteered at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish and School, was an avid reader and book club participant, traveled the world with her kindred spirit Jim, was an active member of the adopted mother's club, and enjoyed spending time and vacations at the Jersey Shore with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Peg was the beloved wife of Jim, the proud and loving mother of James (Laurette), Marianne (Mark), Margaret Anne Martin, and Matthew (Sofia), and the cherished grandmom of Kathlyn, Bruce, Gabrielle, Christopher, Erin, James, Mark, Shannon, Avery, Annie, Ava and Lila and the great-grandmom of Ava Mae, Boe, Avery, and Ella Margot.

She will be missed by her brother Joseph (Agnes) Burns, her brothers-in-law Thomas (Eileen) Garberina and William (Margaret) Garberina, and cousin Katherine (Larry) Judge, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, grandson Bruce J. Martin III, and her sisters, Mary Ann Burns and Catherine Finnegan.
