Louis C. Riggs, Jr passed away peacefully on Dec., 30th, 2025 at home. Lou was born in Abington, Pa on July 6th, 1932. He lived in Jenkintown, and attended Jenkintown schools from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. After graduation he attended Penn State Abington for a year before transferring to the main campus. He was active on the board at Penn State, and there is an endowed scholarship in his name. His education was interrupted when he was drafted into the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for two years. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to Penn State and earned his degree. After college, Lou was employed by the Walker Cadillac Agency in Jenkintown. Later on, he met a friend who led him into the selling of

life insurance for Equitable, and this became his career. An avid golfer, he was a member of Manufacturers Golf and Country Club where he won the club championship for 11 years. Lou was deeply involved in his community, He served as President of the Rotary club in Jenkintown, and he was a member of the Abington Ymca where he started golf tournament to raise funds for the Y. He was also a member of Jenkintown United Methodist Church where he served on many boards for over 50 years. In addition, he served at the Jenkintown Food cupboard stocking shelves for those in need. Lou was a resident of Anns Choice for more than 18 years in Warminster, Pa. During that time, he was active as a cubby stuffer, ambassador, and a member of the Romeo club, Veterans and Constitution club. Lou also started a golf tournament to raise money for the Scholarship fund at Anns Choice.

Lou is survived by his wife Pene, who he was married to for 67 years, 2 daughters, Shawna (John) and Sara (Craig), 4 grandsons, Andy(Allura), Tyler (Marissa), Zack and Colby, and 3 great grandchildren, Josette, Nora and Liam.

Relatives and friends are invited to his celebration of life on Monday, Jan. 12th at Anns Choice. Visitation will be from 9-10 with a service at 10. Burial will follow the service at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
