Kenneth "Ken" Winfield Hucke, 80, of Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania died peacefully at home

on July 6, 2024. Ken was the son of Mary and Winfield Hucke, and was born in Philadelphia on

July 7, 1943. He and his sister Ellen (Hucke) Collins of Hot Springs, Virginia grew up in

Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Abington High School and attended Iowa

State University on a swimming scholarship.

In 1968 he married the love of his life, Linda Hansen, from Edwardsville, Illinois. Ken and Linda

moved into the Jenkintown area where they raised their two daughters, Kathryn (Hucke)

Dromey and Meredith Lynn Hucke.

Ken joined the family business, Premier Products Company Incorporated, in 1967. After 37

years, he sold the business and retired. As he liked to say, retirement grew old quickly, so Ken

worked for a friend's business for a short time before eventually becoming the face of ACE

Hardware in Huntingdon Valley, PA. He also spent his retirement years serving on the Board of

Directors for the Tall Trees community, where he and Linda resided.

Ken was a lifetime member of Huntingdon Valley Country Club, where he and his family spent

many wonderful times. He was an avid swimmer and a valued member of the HVCC swim team.

In his adult years, he refocused his attention on golf, a sport which helped forge long and lasting

friendships. He won the President's Cup for golf in 1987.

In the late 1970s, he purchased a summer home in a sleepy fishing village in Victoria Beach,

Nova Scotia. In 1997, the family moved across the province to Chester on the South Shore. The

property was called "Kelimeryn" a name Ken created by combining the names Ken, Linda,

Meredith, and Kathryn. Ken treasured his time in Nova Scotia above all else. He loved the

people and the simplicity of life and nature there. He spent his time boating, golfing, and

relaxing while enjoying the beauty of the coast and good friends. Their home there was magical

and all who visited came away with the feeling that they had just visited a place like no other.

After 30+ years, in 2010, they sold "Kelimeryn" and began to focus their attention on their two

granddaughters, Wynne and Maye Dromey of Longmeadow, Massachusetts. They summered

together as an extended family in Avalon, NJ and shared many laughs (and oysters) over the

past decade.

Ken had a keen sense of humor and a great memory. He never forgot a face. His many stories

and jokes will long be remembered. Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda

Hucke, his daughters Kathryn Hucke Dromey (husband Philip) and Meredith Hucke, his

granddaughters, Wynne Dromey and Maye Dromey, his sister Ellen Collins (husband Michael),

and numerous nieces and nephews. Services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of

flowers, contributions in his memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at

pulmonaryfibrosis.org would be appreciated by the family.
