Joseph J.
Parkinson
Jan 6, 1989 — Apr 24, 2026
Joseph John Parkinson III passed away peacefully on April 24th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on January 6th, 1989, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Anisa Carroll and Joseph Parkinson, he was 37 years old.
Joey's greatest passion was sports and was a true Philadelphian sports fanatic, which reflected his competitive spirit, teamwork, and energy brought to anything he did. He excelled at a young age in basketball, soccer, hockey, and football; however, he found his true calling in boxing competing in several events as "Thunder" Joe Parkinson.
Known for his outgoing personality, he would light up any room he entered. He had a way of making people feel welcome, through his sense of humor, and ability to turn strangers into lifelong friends. He was the kind of person people naturally gravitated towards, genuine, loyal, and full of life. He stood firmly for anyone he loved, always ready to defend and support as he loved fiercely and protected deeply. He will be remembered for his big heart, strong spirit, and unconditional love he gave so freely.
Joey's love and legacy will be carried through his daughter Aubrey and stepdaughter Gianna. He was a proud and loving father, and they were the center of his life and the heart of everything he did. He loved supporting them through their activities and was his children's biggest fan. Though he is gone from this world, his love remains a lasting reminder of the incredible man and father he was.
Joseph is survived by his daughter Aubrey Parkinson and Stepdaughter Gianna Siderio, Mother and Stepfather Anisa and Michael Carroll, his Father and Stepmother Joseph and Colleen Parkinson, his Siblings Ashley Pera (Jonathan) Jessica Carroll, Michael Carroll and his Stepsiblings, Michael DeLeo (Ashley), Shawn DeLeo (Jennifer), and Stephanie Poznek (Robert), his niece and nephews Olivia Pera, Lucas Pera, Ryan Glacken, and Shawn DeLeo Jr., and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
