It is with deep sorrow and much love, we announce the passing of Harry Debysingh on the morning of August 2nd, 2024.

Harry was born on November 15th, 1940 in the town of Penal, Trinidad and Tobago to Boodoo and Pat Debysingh. One of 8 children, Harry never lacked for activity and early in life developed a passion for exercise and working out. Outside of family time, nothing made him happier than enjoying a horse race or an old Western movie. Harry's inherently strong work ethic served him well, as it was while selling fish door to door in his village that he met his beloved wife, Sookdai. Harry was an industrious man working as an electrician in Trinidad, building his family home, and then finishing his career at U-Haul after immigrating to America in 1992.

Harry could easily be identified by his slicked back, suave hairstyle that earned him the nickname, "Elvis." His appetite was quenched by any number of Trinidadian delicacies including dahl and rice, spinach, and sada roti. A particular man, Harry made more mention of windshield wiper fluid in a month than most do in a lifetime, and he kept an immaculate lawn. Education was also a priority to Harry for all of his grandchildren.

Harry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sookdai Debysingh; their daughter Debbie Mills, and her husband Jeffery Koons; their daughter Linda Claude, and her husband Felix Claude; and follows his late son, David Debysingh. Harry's heart and joy were his 6 grandchildren Daniel Mills and his wife Heather Mills; Dylan Mills and his wife, Katelyn, Chelsea Baker and her husband Andrew; Mattieu Claude; Nickolas Claude; and Ethan Claude. The arrival of great-grandchildren made a profound impact on him, and he was never in his life more joyous than loving, hugging or just watching cartoons with Daniel Jr., Declan, Donovan, and Ellen Mills; Aria and Elijah Mills; and Amelia, Jesse and Jasper Harry Baker.

Harry was grateful for each day he lived, and was strengthened by his faith in Christ. He will be remembered by his strength, wisdom and love for his family. His legacy of grit, determination and loyalty will not be forgotten. Harry left this earth peacefully and is safely home.
