Flora Joan Westhoff

Flora Joan ("JoAnn") Westhoff, nee Trapp, was born on October 24, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH and died on December 2, 2023, surrounded by her family at her home in Huntingdon Valley, PA. The youngest of four daughters of Mary Betz and Alfred Trapp, Joan was a 1947 graduate of St Joseph Academy. In 1951, she married Joseph J Westhoff and they were blessed to celebrate 67 wedding anniversaries. Together they raised six children, Joseph (Marie), Joan Donahue (Jerry), James (Micheline), Judy Berman (Lou), John (Kelly), and Jeanne Schlussel (Steve).

Joan was preceded in death by her devoted husband, both parents, her three sisters, Mary Krueger, Helen Shively, and Elizabeth Wolff, and her grandson Jimmy. Among the many who will miss her are her children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

When not busy with family matters, Joan loved to shop. Time lost all meaning when she was at the mall. She is undoubtedly missing the opportunity to track down Christmas gifts once again for everyone on her list. Her generosity knew no bounds.

Joan was a lifelong devout Catholic and a faithful member of Our Lady Help of Christians parish in Abington, PA. Over the years, she supported the Church as well as many charitable organizations. Perhaps the only thing longer than her shopping lists were her prayer lists, which included anyone anywhere with a problem, ailment, or wish. Only the Lord knows how many people received blessings from her countless requests.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joan's viewing on December 11 at 9:30AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM, Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 1500 Marian Rd, Abington, PA. Interment at St John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
