Elizabeth Agnes "Lil" McFadden (Morley) formerly of Abington, PA peacefully passed away Thursday morning, April 9 while in hospice care at St. Mary Villa.  She was 96 years old.

Beloved wife of the late Harry J. McFadden (2009). Loving mother of Harry John (Christopher Wessel), Monica A. McFadden-Gross (Charles), Patricia A. Benz (Steven), Edward Joseph, Maureen Mitchell (Robert), and Anne Marie Lewis (David).  Grandmother of Courtney, Danielle, Casey, Riley, Shane, Ian, Brian, Matthew, Thomas, and Daniel. Great-grandmother of Mya, and Poppy. Sister of the late Fr. Edward Thomas Morley (2017) and the late John Joseph Morley (2003).  "Aunt Lil" to Joseph (1965), Rosemary, Dennis, Michael (1999), Theresa (2015), Ellen, Kevin, Mary Kate, Kathleen, and Denise.

Born October 8, 1929 in Jersey City, NJ, Lil was the eldest child and daughter of Irish immigrants Edward Thomas Morley and Monica Delia Merriman. Her family later moved to Bonsall St. in the Irish-Catholic enclave of North Philadelphia known as Swampoodle.

Lil attended her parish grade school St. Columba's and graduated from Hallahan Catholic Girls High School.  At the age of 17, her mother died and she became responsible for the care of her younger brothers Ed and Joe as well as, to a great degree, her father.

She worked at Exide Battery where a certain Harry McFadden worked as an accountant.  Lil said that she used to see her future husband around Exide and knew who he was, but they never officially met until they were introduced by friends at the annual Mayo Ball in 1949.  They started dating shortly after that. They became engaged in October, 1952 and were married the following year in June

The early 50's after the war were a tough time and they lived with her father while they saved for a place of their own, finally saving enough money to purchase their own home on the same Bonsall Street, just 2 doors down from her father and brothers.

After the birth of her 6 children, the family moved to Eckard Ave in Abington.  As new parishioners at Our Lady Help of Christians, both Lil and Harry became involved in various activities, but she especially loved the choir and performing in various church shows.  It was during this time that they made many deep friendships that would last for years.  As members of the infamous "55 and older club" they traveled and laughed their way with friends across the country.  On their own, Lil and Harry started taking annual treks to New York City and made a memorable trip to Ireland to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.  Mom also worked for years at Wanamaker's in Jenkintown.

After the death of her husband, Lil retired and moved to Gloria Dei Farms where she made friends and continued to enjoy her time alone and with family and friends.  Unfortunately, after a stroke in 2017, she could no longer live alone and moved to the assisted living facility at St. Mary Villa.  It was here that she entered hospice care a few weeks ago and passed quietly and peacefully.
