Dorothy L. Krewson (nee Adlesberger) of Abington, PA passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late W. Wilson Krewson, she was the loving mother of Amy McGowan (Dan), William Krewson, (Mary), Ellen Delzingaro (Joe), and Monica Walchak (Adam), she was predeceased by her son Matthew Krewson. She was Mom-Mom to Shamus (Jill), Alison and Liam McGowan, Hannah, Matthew (Kelly), Bailey, Jameson and Wilson Krewson, Luke and Claire Delzingaro, Ella, Isabel, Olivia and Krewson Walchak. Great grandmother of Henry and Charlie McGowan. She is also survived by her brother James (Suzanne) Adelsberger, and Sister in Laws Barbara Marrington (the late Gerald) and Irene Seeling (Robert) and 50 nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born in Houtzdale, PA on January 21, 1940 to the late John and Claire Adelsberger. She moved to Philadelphia at an early age with her parents an nine siblings. After marrying the love of her life Will Krewson, they settled in Abington, PA and raised their five children.
Dorothy attended Holy Angles Catholic grade school and Little Flower High School. She started her career at Philadelphia VA Hospital and retired from Abington Memorial Hospital after 30 plus years.
Dot was the queen of one liners and had a great wit. She loved the Philadelphia Phillies, doing cross word puzzles, bowling and playing bridge. The most important thing in Dorothy's life was her family. She loved growing up in a large family and continued to stay close to all her relatives. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her greatest joy. After she lost her husband Will, she adopted her dog Lucy who was with her until the end. Dorothy's last 2 years were spent at St. Joseph's Villa. She loved her friends and caretakers at the Villa who became her additional family.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Monday evening at FitzPatrick Funeral Home 1500 Old York Rd. Abington from 6 to 8 pm and on Tuesday 9:30 to 10:15 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 1500 Marian Rd. Abington where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions in her name to St. Joseph's Villa 110 W. Wissahickon Ave. Flourtown, PA 19031.
