Albert Franklin
Underwood
Nov 8, 1949 — Jan 26, 2025
Albert "Al" Franklin Underwood, Sr. (75) passed on to his heavenly home on January 26th surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late William Richard & Ethel Irene Underwood (nee Dukes), he resided in North Wales, PA at the time of his passing. Al was a true lover of God and lived a faithful life. He worked as a machinist at Henry Riehl & Son in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, PA for 37 years before the company went out of business. He worked in various jobs in the following years until accepting his final position as a van driver for his local school district. Al was also a music enthusiast and an avid fisherman. He was known to his children and grandchildren as a "Jack of all trades" and a master tinkerer. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. He was always curious about how things worked and was creative and resourceful.
He shared his many passions with all his children and anyone who cared to listen. He enjoyed cooking immensely and could most often be found experimenting in the kitchen. One motto of his was "I live to eat, not eat to live."
He was the loving husband for 58 years to Claudia E. Underwood (nee Shaughnessy). Together they had 14 children: April (Mike) Reahm, Christine Ranay (Dale) Paton, Albert Jr. (Jenn), James Michael, Sr. (Ilana), Tabitha (George) Evans, Monica (the late Joshua) Huf, Erica (Mark) Schaible, the late Robin Diane, the late Brenon Scott, Kendall, Jarette, Aaron (Abbi), Timothy, and Coraline Reagan Jameson.
