Obituary for Margaret A. "Peggy" Everson (Goebel)
Margaret A. “Peggy” Everson (née Goebel) passed away on June 18, 2021 at the age of 67 after battling lung cancer. She was the loving mother of Bethany E. O’Brien (spouse Michael), Amanda J. Rompola (Jason), Patrick G. Everson (Sarah Chapin) and Timothy G. Everson (Wren Haaland). Beloved grandmother "GiGi" to Mackenzie and Madison Rompola and Thea Everson. She is also survived by her mother Margaret and her siblings Mary Goebel, Kathleen Staerk, James “Jim” Goebel, Susan Cooper, Laura Collier, Michael Goebel, Christopher Goebel, and Teresa Hughes; she was predeceased by her father James and her sister Eileen Hosterman. She took great joy in her large family, including her four children, her nine siblings, her 20 nieces and nephews, and all of their families.
Peggy cared for others deeply, from helping countless shoppers at the Willow Grove Park mall to organizing countless family get-togethers--including her famous Christmas brunch. She loved celebrating any holiday you could name, welcoming every new baby to the family, and writing daily notes to slip into her kids' packed lunches. She was an attentive homemaker, a caring nursery school aide, and a second mom to many neighborhood kids over her 33 years on Rosemont Lane. She loved gardening, crafting, crocheting, and the color yellow.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday June 26, 2021 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 1500 Marian Road in Abington from 9:00am to 9:45am, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of sending flowers to the family, please send donations to the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer and plant yellow flowers in your garden.
