Obituary for Frank J. Kotkoskie

Francis (Frank) Joseph Kotkoskie Sr. passed away on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at the age of 92, in Abington PA. He was the beloved husband of 70 years to his “Kemosabe” Veronica; father to Frank Jr. (deceased), Susan and Linda: grandfather to Rachel and her husband Jesse, Frank III, Jimmy and his wife Kelsea, Brandon and his partner Miranda, and Amber; and a great-grandfather to Mason, Hazel, Olivia and Monroe. He was lovingly known to his whole family as “ Pop-Pop.”

Frank was born December 28th, 1928 in Ranshaw, Northumberland County PA. He joined the Navy and served as a Naval air instructor, training pilots to do instrument flights for the Korean war. He met Veronica at a military dance, where they fell in love and married shortly after in 1951.

A mastercraftsman and woodworker, Frank was a great patriarch of his community. He never hesitated to help his family, neighbors and even strangers. He would drop everything to help, offering up his time, knowledge and extensive tool library. Every house in his neighborhood has been touched by his hand.

Pop-Pop taught his family about cars, tools, and working with your hands. He loved spending time with his grandkids, and instilled in all of them a love of fishing, boating and the outdoors. He adored being on the water and was an active member of his boatclub for decades. Frank could spend hours in his garage workshop, and would easily hum a tune or sing a song. He loved a good joke, Sunday night dinner at Linda’s and cooking. He worked hard, and enjoyed a good afternoon nap.

We will always carry his memory in our hearts
