Obituary for Evelyn Reutemann
Evelyn Reutemann, of Meadowbrook, PA passed away March 17, 2023 at Gloria Dei Memory Care in Willow Grove at the age of 92. She was born in Houtzdale, PA to the late Elias and Sarah Sahlaney in 1929. Evelyn graduated from Houtzdale High School and then attended Temple University where she received a degree as a Dental Hygienist.
At Temple, she met and married the love of her life, Vincent M. Reutemann in 1953 in Houtzdale, PA. They set up their home in the Philadelphia area and Evelyn worked as a Dental Hygienist. A devoted mother; she stopped working to raise her family. She is the loving mother of Peggy Myers (Roger) and Jack Reutemann (Cheryl) and beloved grandmother of Claudia and Nick Reutemann. Evelyn is the sister of the late Peggy Raymond, Vivian Buzzanncio, Michael and Jack Sahlaney, she is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
After her family was raised, Evelyn went back to work as a dental hygienist for several years. An avid golfer, she was a longtime member of North Hills Country Club where she also loved playing bridge. Evelyn deeply valued all of her family and held her friendships very close. She also enjoyed volunteering with Abington PAL and helping her daughter on election day at the polls.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Friday March 24, 2023 from 9:00 an until 11:00 am at FitzPatrick Funeral Home, 1500 Old York Rd. Abington. Int. Private. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory to Abington Police Athletic League 1166 Old York Rd. Abington, PA 19001 would be appreciated by the family.
