Obituary for Charles A. Peters Sr.

After a valiant fight against cancer for over a year Charles Allan Peters passed away on January 4, 2020.

He was a kind, caring, loyal man who was passionate about family, his dog Trooper, Penn State, the Steelers, and the US Navy.

Born in 1944, and raised near Pittsburgh, he attended Penn State where he met and married his wife, Eve Elizabeth Proctor, who preceded him in death.

During the Vietnam War he attended the US Navy Officer Candidate School and completed a tour of duty.

Post his tour of duty he returned to Penn State and earned an MBA in Finance, before ultimately deciding to reenlist and serve 20 years as a Naval Officer.

While he and his wife loved travelling and seeing the world, including 3 years spent in Puerto Rico, he arranged to work  11 years at Naval bases in Northeast Philadelphia and West Trenton in order to not have to uproot his school age children.

He will be greatly missed by his sons Charles Jr (wife Margaret, children Catherine and Caroline), Dan (wife Shellie, children Sarah and Ryan), sister Lynn (George Proud); In-Laws, Nieces, Nephews, Neighbors, and Friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, January 19th from 1pm to 3pm at George G. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home in Abington, PA
