Barton M. Cahan, age 90 passed away January 4, 2021 at home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He was a longtime resident of Abington, born in Cheltenham to the late Maurice John and Sara (nee Lieberman) Cahan. Mr. Cahan worked as a medic for the Howard County Maryland Fire Company and the Willow Grove Second Alarmer’s. He also taught pre-hospital events at Hahnenann, Warminster and Cooper Hospitals. Bart was an eagle scout and involved with the Delaware Valley Fire and EMS Judging. He and his wife were active in fundraising and food distribution for many years and were poll judges for the elections. Beloved husband of Maureen (nee McDermott) Cahan, he is the loving father of Rick, Donna, Andrew and the late Peter Cahan and stepfather of Robert Gaffney. He is the grandfather of Joanna Carroll, Joshua Cahan, and great grandfather of Katherine, Carson, Clive and Clara. Relatives and friend are invited to his viewing Saturday 9 am at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 1500 Marian Rd. Abington, PA followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 am.
