MURTHA, Catherine “Kitty” (nee Wood), longtime resident of Abington Township, PA passed away Friday April 28, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Murtha, she is the loving mother of Patricia A. Murtha (Liam Horan), Catherine A. Bauerle (Michael Bauerle) and William J. Murtha (Sherri McEwen). She is the sister of Anna Kiernan (Eugene) and sister in law of Marion Wood. Born in 1931 in Phila., she was the daughter of Jesse and Ann Wood. Kitty graduated from West Catholic High School. Married for 55 years, Kitty loved her family, socializing and spending her summers at the Jersey shore, she was a warm wonderful person that made everyone feel welcome. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Wednesday May 3rd 9:00 am at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 1500 Marian Rd. Abington, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Breathing Room Foundation, 600 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046 would be appreciated by the family.
